A Parley Bates Elementary -

Please join our first Chinese Corner on Thursday, October 23, 2025 (3:30 - 4:15 pm) at Bates Elementary in the cafeteria. This year we are trying monthly themed Chinese Corner events that will be organized by all of the Chinese teachers, junior high school volunteers, and PTA parents. October's theme is the Moon Festival - Come and make your own mooncake keychain (月饼钥匙扣)! All Bates students are invited! Sign up using the QR code on the flyer.

We want to give a huge shout-out to our amazing Instructional Coach, Mrs. Gifford! Her dedication, wisdom, and passion for learning elevates everyone around her—our students, teachers, and staff.

Every day, Mrs. Gifford works tirelessly behind the scenes, providing invaluable support, guidance, and innovative strategies that help our Bates Bison thrive.

Come to the Bookfair during Parent Teacher Conferences. October 13 and 14, we will be open until 7:00 PM and on October 15, we will be open until 1:00 PM.

It is Custodian Appreciation Day today and Bates has some of the best! We would love to give a shout-out to our Head Custodian, Ashley, and thank her for all that she does for our school.

Dear Bates Elementary Families,

I hope you are enjoying your summer! We are so excited to welcome our students and families back for another great school year. Our staff is already preparing for a fantastic year of learning, growth, and fun together.

As we get ready to return, I encourage you to start talking with your children about our Bates Elementary expectations: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe. Reinforcing these values at home will help your child start the year with a positive mindset and set them up for success.

July 28 – Annual Enrollment Opens for Returning Students in PowerSchool
July 31 – New Student Registration, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
August 5 – Teacher Assignments Available in PowerSchool
August 11–12 – Kindergarten Assessment Information (More information will come)
August 18 – Back to School Night, 4:00–6:00 p.m.
August 19 – First Day of School
August 19–22 – Early Release at 12:20 p.m.
