Attendance Roster below - 4 Council Members (2 parents and 2 employees) were not in
attendance

1-Welcome and Introductions – Brent Hogan
Brent Hogan had everyone introduce themselves.

2-Digital Citizenship Discussion – Monica Widdison
Listened to introduction/training on school district online/internet usage. Content is
filtered by grade and school level. Certain website categories are blocked for all users.
District manages the Chromebooks (responsible for around 40,000!). CIPA (Child
Internet Protection Act) – Weber’s filtering system ensures compliance with the UT state
law. Bark monitors for schools – Bark notifications get set to parents and principals.
Digital literacy – students are to learn how to create and share acceptable content
(usage of technology doesn’t equal digital literacy). There is a common-sense digital
literacy curriculum. Each grade has unique units to help teach students digital literacy.
Parent resources include The Art of Screen Time (book) or type Be Internet Awesome in
google for a kid friendly game.

3-Nominations and voting for School Community Council Positions – Brent Hogan
Motion to nominate Stephane Budge as Council Chair.
Motion made by: Marjean Swanson
Motion 2nd by: Jessica Widrick
Voting was unanimous.
Jessica Widrick to remain as Council Vice Chair.

4-Review of Trustland – Brent Hogan
Trust plans goals include literacy goal K-6 will increase overall language proficiency by
3%.

5-Review of TSSA – Brent Hogan
TSSA plan goals - reading 60% of students grade 1-6 and 5% on the SGPs for Rise
math assessments budget summary - $111,600

6-Review Esser II and (New Esser III) – Brent Hogan
Esser II and Esser III funds can be used for student improvement and academic (cannot
be used for something like air conditioning). $33,000 is current Esser funding.
Recommendation to classroom sound systems.
Motion to approve Esser funds to classroom sound systems and.

Voting was unanimous.

Motion to approve any excess Esser funds after sound system purchase (if available) to
go to technology replacements.

7-Adopt Rules and Order of Procedure
No change to rules or order or procedure.

Motion to continue with the existing rules and order of procedure.

Voting was unanimous.
